Back to California, USA - Not So Much An End, As A New Beginning

After a light sleep we woke up at 4.30 am in our Giza hotel and were ready to meet our Cairo contact, Mohammed, and driver for the 45 minute trip to the airport.

Our 5 hour flight to Heathrow Airport in London, UK was uneventful. We took a short shuttle to the Holiday Inn Airport Hotel where we spent the rest of the late afternoon and evening resting, re-packing for flight into US, and preparing for our return.

The flight from London to Los Angeles was 10 hours and also uneventful except for some pockets of strong turbulence. We checked into our airport hotel in LA and met with Susan's son, Jeremy for dinner.

As we close out this portion of our lives we look back over 336 glorious days and feel extremely grateful - both for each other and the opportunity to live our lives in such an incredible world with amazing places and wonderful people.

While we visited about 23 countries it was all a backdrop to living our everyday life together, in good health, and always with humble gratitude.

Thank you for your emails, comments, and support over this time. We have appreciated it all and look forward to our next chapter as it develops. So stay tuned!
