Monday was travel day. Flight to El Calafate at 6 am, then on the bus to El Chaletan for 3 hours (not all paved). Great views along the way. We arrive in El Chaletan and walk to hotel on gravel road (small luggage good, but backpack alone would have been better). Settled in - wonderful accommodations and amazing dinner - Napa style and quality met and surpassed.
After a night of heavy winds and rain, the skies are blue and it´s just gorgous. Took 4 hour hike in Los Glaciares National Park. Weather was warm, windy, and very clear. Spectacular views of Mt Fitz Roy and Torre peaks and glaciers. Hard to believe summer sunset here is at 10 pm.

... nice to read about this trip at the end of the world. When you are in the white city of Arequipa, we can try to compress the pics and put them online. Wish you all the best and nice happy days ...
JUST REMEMBER TO "not" WEAR JEWERY WHEN WALKING THE STREETS. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR HAND JUST TO GET A RING...DO THEY HAVE SILVEROAK??
